HOW WE ARE BLESSED!

Sue O’Donnell. 20.07.20

“All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD and shall glorify Your name.” (Psalm 86 v 9)

Together in our Saviour,

We worship, one in body,

The body of Christ Jesus,

One in heart,

The actual start of the Spirit

Ever at work with us who are in Jesus.

“Open for me the gate of saving justice, I shall go in and thank Yaweh. This is the gate of Yaweh, where the upright gain. I thank You for hearing me and making Yourself my Saviour.” (Psalm 118 v 19, 20, 21 TNJB)

One in mind with Jesus,

For we find without this love between us,

We cannot worship,

Come, Holy Spirit of unity.

Shape us in all wisdom

By the truth at work through Jesus.

He is the peace between God and us.

“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone; this is Yaweh’s doing, and we marvel at it.” (Psalm 118 v 22, 23 TNJB)

This peace is as established at the † of forgiveness.

Be the growth of our community spiritually,

That we all commit ourselves to Jesus.

Jesus, manifesting God’s love to us.

Jesus, the pure gift of God’s mercy,

To lift us away from the clutches of satan.

“This is the day which Yaweh has made, a day for us to rejoice and be glad.” (Psalm 118 v 24 TNJB)

It is by His union with us,

Made possible by the Spirit of holiness.

This is how God’s love is made visible,

Audible, tangible and most real.

May we be shielded from satan,

Yielded to the One who is Saviour,

Confident in the Lord Jesus’ victory over all that is evil.

“Praise Yaweh, all nations, extol Him, all peoples, for His faithful love is strong and His constancy never ending.” (Psalm 117 v 1, 2 TNJB)

“Allelluia! Give thanks to Yaweh for He is good, for His faithful love endures forever... let those who fear Yaweh say, ‘His faithful love endures forever’.” (Psalm 118 v 1, 4 TNJB)

Thank You, thank You, thank You dearest Father, for our salvation. I will never be able to thank You sufficiently , for the new hope the Spirit gifts us in Jesus, according to Your will, is glorious.

We become hopeful for the future of mankind. We are at peace with You. We rejoice in the friendship of the Lord Jesus and delight to receive of His Spirit. Life should be an endless season of joy!

“You controlling Your strength, are mild in judgment” thanks to Jesus taking our punishment upon Himself, winning forgiveness for us. Also, You “Govern us with great lenience ...” (Wisdom 12 v 18 TNJB) never giving up on us, for You are compassionate.

“By acting then, You have taught Your people” – those who have become Your people by accepting the Lord Jesus as Saviour – You have shown us “That the upright must be kindly to his (her) fellows.” (v 19)

We are made one body, one family in the love You offer us Father God, as manifest by the Lord Jesus, and made real to appeal to us by the Holy Spirit.

“You have given Your children the good hope that after sins You will grant repentance.” (Cont.) This is the very purpose of the Lord Jesus dying on the †, to save us for eternal joy in Your company in heaven. Oh, how we are blessed!

“With what exact attention have You not judged Your children, to whose ancestors, by oaths and covenants, You made such generous promises? Thus, You instruct us, when You punish our enemies in moderation, that we should reflect on Your kindness when we judge, and, when we are

judged we should look for mercy.” (v 21, 22)

What a measure of love is shown us. May we love in return, learning to do this as fully as is possible, by developing a likeness to the Lord Jesus, according to the Spirit at work with us.

“You are great and do wondrous things,” (Psalm 86 v 10)with us, for us, though us when we work according to the inspiration of the Spirit, our eyes fixed upon the Lord Jesus as not only Saviour, but Mentor and Teacher.

All that is excellent in life happens because “You alone are God.” (Cont.) God in three Persons, each and together in fullest unity of love and mercy, inviting us to be Your family on earth, a people destined for

heaven.

“Teach us Your way, O LORD! We will walk in Your truth. Unite our hearts to fear Your name,” (v 11 the singular invocation changed to plural) called to be one before You, our life given over to our Saviour as asked to by the Spirit.

Truly wondrous, most marvellous are Your works of redemption, of salvation, of sanctification, all done by love for the sake of love. May we do a much better job of loving You through loving each other, respecting

and tolerating our differences of background and culture, of custom.

Our new identity is forged and formed by the Spirit of Jesus, He who is the Spirit of love offering a new life to us, a life cleansed of sinfulness, a life richly blessed to know Jesus as Lord, Saviour, Master, the living

Word of truth.

Let us live by this truth, and “I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore.” (v 12) When I think in days long gone we could not mention You by name, not at all.

But now, all thanks to Jesus, the Saviour of the world, sending us the promised, sanctifying Spirit, directly into our hearts, we can call You ‘Abba’, Father, or even ‘Daddy’. How fully blessed we are. Amen.
